Òscar Ollé, a Montblanc cabinetmaker
I am a cabinet makerbased in Montblanc. I have been working in this sector for 35 years. Because I am in love with what I do, I make pieces that are completely handcrafted, such as handmade signature wooden furniture pieces, hand made wooden jewellery, hand made wooden ornamental pieces and other pieces specially designed by me.
The materials I use are 100 % fromsustainable woods from different continents, and from the different native regions in the country. So, I create and personalise each piece to the requests of a discerning audience.
My commitment tow hat I dore flects the unique ness and the quality of my products.
RESPECTING TO THE WOOD
My forte are the raw materials that I work with, such as native wood, preserved and dried using traditional techniques which make the aging process and the treatment of the wood after turning more natural.
The intervention of the weather, temperature and location brings beauty, texture to the surface, and unique quality to getting results of an exceptional quality.
WOODEN DESIGN
Idea, development, creativity, texture, and colour are the key tools to know how to understand what the client wants and adapt it to their needs.
From designing bespokeh and made wooden jewellery pieces, hand made ornamental wooden pieces, exclusive wooden pieces for collectors,to my own signature designs. All of them carry their own identity and personality, whether it comesfrom the nature, from the trees of our cities,or from our wonderful local woodland.
THE TREES ARE MY ALLIES
From a young age, I had the opportunity to work with all type of conifer trees.
When it comes to working with their wood, each specimen has its own characteristics. This could be by the turning process,or by making hand craftedjobs such as carving with chisel or with gouge, restoration, or even the recovery of woodsdegraded by time.
